Here's a way to take 3D prints to a whole new level of interesting creations.
Kinematics will take an object and decimate that into linked elements that folds down into a more compact structure. The structure can be 3D printed, then exapnded at a later time (hence the 4D) to the final shape.
The flexible nature of the linked elements make it ideal for non-rigid items. Fashion is one of the more obvious uses, as can be seen in the picture below. Neat!
