According to this latest blog post from MakerBot, the new 5th generation MakerBot Replicator has been released to start shipping this week.
No word on how many units are actually shipping -- but I suspect there will be a steady ramp in the coming weeks as they get feedback from early customers.
The page also links to the MakerBot Desktop software, which is currently recommended only for the new printer, but will reportedly be ported to continue support for the earlier Replicators and also the Thing-O-Matics. (That's good, because we still run the ToM at home!)
