XTC-3D® is a protective coating for smoothing and finishing 3D printed parts. This coating self-levels, wets out uniformly without leaving brush strokes, and cures to a hard, impact resistant coating that can be sanded, primed and painted. XTC-3D® is inexpensive to use (1 oz covers 100+ square inches) and adding colors and metal effects is easy.

The coating helps to fill in the gaps formed between the layers of the print. When used with transparent filament, the coating will help recover the optical transparency of the finished print.

In order to get the best results with XTC-3D, please be sure to follow the manufacturer's supplied instructions included in the box.  For best results, work in small batches and apply thin coats, using the supplied foam brush to ensure a more even application.

The coating will set in about 15 minutes. For best results, allow the finished item to fully cure before performing additional steps.  The finished part can be sanded for a matte finish, or further polished to provide a very smooth surface.  As it is easier to sand compared to PLA, using the coating may save you time and effort in finishing your project.
