Warm up some 2D skills while getting ready for 3D

I came across a great Instructables entry on learning how to sketch and draw, and wanted to share it with you.  If you are just starting out the process of learning to create objects in 3D, I encourage you to spend a little bit of time to sharpen your 2D sketching skills.

While it's tempting to dive straight in to design things in the computer and to do it directly in 3D, I think it's sometimes helpful to rough out some outlines of your ideas on paper.   A few years ago, I took an introductory sketching for industrial design -- in addition to being a lot of fun, the lessons improved my ability to quickly sketch out ideas (or fragments of ideas) without getting bogged down in the details of getting it right in CAD.  My 3D modeling definitely has benefitted for it.
